Dear LMU Parents,

On behalf of the Parent and Family Leadership Council, we are delighted to welcome you to the Loyola Marymount University family.

Our oldest son, Brian, class of 2020, and our daughter, Claire, class of 2022, chose LMU for their undergraduate degrees. The combination of academic programs, beautiful campus, and gorgeous weather inspired them to join the Lion Family. Being from San Francisco, the university also has that far enough away feeling, but not too far for them to enjoy their college years.

Our family has always been involved in our Catholic faith and parish life, so we were so happy that they would be at a Jesuit University to further their academic and spiritual growth. We have always been inspired by the Jesuits and their message, so it has been a wonderful addition to our family experience.

During their time at LMU, Brian and Claire have been involved in the honors program, service organizations, Campus Ministry, KXLU Radio, and on-campus EMTs. These activities combined with their academics and on campus jobs have exposed them to a varied experience and demanding schedules. The university has been so good to us, and we know that LMU will always be part of our family.

Volunteering at school, church, and in our community has always been an important part of our lives. Joining the Parent and Family Leadership Council at LMU gave us a way to actively support the university. We have our own responsibilities and commitments at the university, while our college kids do their own thing. And, everyone is happy to have an LMU experience of their own.

The Parent Council offers members a channel to share experiences and have their voices heard. Our meetings include dynamic speakers from all different areas on campus, bringing together parents from all over to share common goals and values.

We are honored to serve as co-chairs of the Parent and Family Leadership Council, following the most capable footsteps of Diane Kounalakis, parent of Victoria Baxter, '19.

Kevin and I look forward to meeting many of you and hearing your Lion Parent stories. Enjoy every minute you can on "the Bluff!"

In the Spirit,

Maureen and Kevin Kosewic P '20, '22
