Applying for Living Learning and Theme Communities
- Applications - Students must apply to an LLC/Theme to be considered.
- March 9 - Students will be notified of which LLC(s) they were invited to.
- March 12 - Students must confirm which LLC they would like to join. Confirmation must be submitted in the Housing Application.
Room Selection Overview
- Step 1 - Living Learning Community Invitations and 5-and 6-person apartment offers
- Step 2: Selection Time slots Released - Mid March
- Step 3: Room Selection (Choosing Rooms) - LMU Blue (Rising Sophomores) – End of March and LMU Crimson (Rising Juniors/Senior) – Early April
Other notes:
- Students will be able to see all available rooms when they log in
- Students select the exact building, room, and bed space
- Any group member can select at their time slot
- Anyone who selects must assign all group members

Additional Information
Disability Support Services (DSS): Accommodations
- Students who require a housing accommodation renew with DSS each year
- Must complete the Housing Application
- Housing Staff will discuss options with student when received from DSS
- Does not apply to roommates or roommate groups
- Are not guaranteed and are subject to availability
- Students Studying Abroad in Spring 2026 (i.e. currently) - Students must complete the Housing Application to live on campus next fall
- Students Studying Abroad in Fall 2026 - If already accepted, do not apply until October. If you have not been accepted, we recommend applying for housing in case you do not study abroad (cancellation exception if accepted and requested)
- Students Studying Abroad in Spring 2027 - Students should apply for housing and will be able to cancel in October if accepted to Study Abroad
Cancellation Process
- Continuing students who receive an assignment through the room selection process, but no longer wish to live in university housing, must cancel their 2026-27 Student Housing License Agreement on or before May 29, 2026.
- Those who wish to cancel their housing agreement for the upcoming academic year must complete a Housing License Agreement Release Request on or before the May 29, 2026 deadline. Remember, the housing deposit is non-refundable if you do choose to cancel your housing contract. Students who do not initiate the cancellation process on or before May 29, 2026 will remain committed to the Housing License Agreement and will be charged all housing fees for their assignment during the entire 2026-27 academic year.
- After May 29, 2026, all cancellation requests must go through the Student Housing Release process.

- Have you looked at any Living Learning Communities?
- Have you reviewed the Housing Selection webpage? Including Understanding Housing Selection, Select Your Roommates, Select Your Room, and Additional Details
- Have you discussed and decided on your room preferences as a group?
Roommate Group
- Have you and your friends discussed forming a group?
- Have you made sure your group has one, two, or four persons in it?
Application Status
- Have you filled out all the pages of the application?
- Have you confirmed your Application Status page says “Completed”? There will be a message that states “No further action necessary at this time.”
- Have you received a confirmation email?
- Have you reviewed the License Agreement?
Lastly
- Is there anything you don’t know about your housing for next year?
- Have you emailed, called, or chatted with Student Housing?
