The Strategic Plan’s Spotlight Initiatives outline the plan’s main objectives and actions, and constitute the focal points for unified action required to achieve the plan’s vision and commitments.
The plan "spotlights" these initiatives to structure our organizational thinking, prioritize the allocation of scarce strategic resources, and solicit an all-hands effort from the university community.
In order to accomplish the actions, the university has identified spotlight leads for each initiative to coordinate action across the university by engaging with faculty, staff and administrative point persons as appropriate.
Implementation of the spotlight action items began in the summer of 2021 and will continue through the end of the plan in fall 2026. Throughout implementation, the progress of each action item will be updated regularly on this website every fall, spring and summer. These updates reflect the status of each action item and are defined as:
- Complete – This indicates the action item has been completed and no further work is needed.
- Complete and ongoing – This indicates the action is complete and has enhanced or created new ways of engaging in our work to improve the institution’s progress in this area.
- In progress – This indicates that work on the action item has begun and is working towards completion by the end of the strategic plan.
- Behind – This indicates that work on the action item has begun but has fallen behind the completion timeline.
