The Process

In October 2019, President Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D., announced the formation of the steering committee that will guide the creation of LMU's next strategic plan. This plan will prioritize the university's decisions and actions from 2021-26 and will be guided by this foundational question about LMU's future:

How can we best prepare our students to reason rigorously, imagine richly, and choose discerningly—the world in which we want to live?

The new plan will be future-focused, with an emphasis on strategy and a small number of main priorities. These priorities will be selected through a process based on the LMU community reasoning, imagining and discerning together what is most important for the university to do and become. The plan will build on LMU's many strengths and will focus our energy and resources on the most urgent matters that we are strategically positioned to address.

The process is designed to be inclusive and transparent. On this website you will find information about the steering committee and its work, results of the Strategic Planning Survey, and information about the campus teams and the reports they will produce. There is also the opportunity to receive updates, as well as provide feedback on the process.

You are encouraged to participate in helping to shape LMU's compelling future.
