Ignatian Service Award
The Ignatian Service Award recognizes an exceptional commitment to the service of students, the university, and the community at large, in the spirit of the religious and moral legacy of St. Ignatius. The awardee shall be a full-time staff member who has demonstrated an ongoing and creative commitment to the realization of this legacy through their actions and accomplishments. Nominees should consistently demonstrate one or more of the following: embodying Ignatian values in their work, volunteering time and talents to create lasting positive change, or inspiring and empowering others to serve the community through leadership and mentorship.
St. Ignatius of Loyola
St. Ignatius of Loyola was one of the most influential figures in the Catholic Church. He was the founder and leader of the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits, and also wrote the Spiritual Exercises, a set of meditations and prayers that have guided millions of people, for which he was declared a patron saint of all spiritual retreats. He encouraged each of us to “find God in all things,” and act “for the greater glory of God.”

Nomination Stand-out Quote
"Stuart is widely recognized as a safe and welcoming space for students, staff, and faculty alike. Their commitment to the LGBTQ+ community at LMU is truly immeasurable. They have not only created an inviting and supportive center for students but also took the initiative to revive the staff and faculty affinity space after it was lost during COVID. Their dedication has helped rebuild a sense of belonging and connection for so many across campus."
