St. Ignatius of Loyola

St. Ignatius of Loyola was one of the most influential figures in the Catholic Church. He was the founder and leader of the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits, and also wrote the Spiritual Exercises, a set of meditations and prayers that have guided millions of people, for which he was declared a patron saint of all spiritual retreats. He encouraged each of us to “find God in all things,” and act “for the greater glory of God.”

Nomination Stand-out Quote

"Throughout this last year alone, Julia has collaborated with departments ranging from Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to Mission and Ministry to Student Success, promoting a more restorative campus culture. She has worked this past year to create a new first-year seminar course with a faculty member that centers restorative practices and has also developed an upper division course that will be piloted this fall. Anyone who has interacted with Julia knows that she is someone who brings her whole heart into any meeting and ensures she is talking with others in a way that humanizes one another and challenges hierarchical relationships through her authenticity."
