What is the Staff Computer Loan Lottery Program?

The objective of this program is to provide an opportunity for eligible staff to obtain a loan to purchase or upgrade a laptop, desktop, or tablet, and any related software or peripherals purchased together as part of a system. This can be for either personal or professional use.

 

How many loans are available?

For 2020-2021, there are 48 loans available.

 

Who is eligible?

To be eligible, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • You are a full-time, regular staff member at the LMU Westchester campus or the Law School with at least two years of continuous service as of December 31, 2020.
  • You currently do not have an unpaid computer loan balance with the University.
  • If a previous loan was issued to you, it was paid off no later than July 31, 2019.

Who should I contact to check the status of my existing or previous computer loan?
Contact Joanna Aguirre at the Controller's Office Loan Department at the Westchester campus by phone at 310.338-7517 or via email at Joanna.Aguirre@lmu.edu.

 

Do previous or recent purchases qualify under this program?
No.  You may only submit receipts for eligible purchases made on or after the date you are notified that you have won.

 

From which vendors am I allowed to purchase a computer system?
You may purchase a computer system from any online vendor or from any retail store. You may also take advantage of LMU educational pricing through these vendors:

How do I enter the lottery?
Click on one of the "Submit Your Entry" links below (Spanish and English versions available). For 2020-2021, the deadline is March 22, 2021 at 5 pm.

 

When is the lottery open?

Entry period opens: 8:00 AM on Tuesday, March 2, 2021

Entry period closes: 5:00 PM on Monday, March 22, 2021

Notification: By end of day on Monday, March 29, 2021

 

How will I know if I won?
The 2020-2021 drawing will be held during the week of March 22, 2021. Winners and alternates will be notified via email and the list of winners will be posted on the Results page by March 29, 2021.

 

How will I know what to do after I win?
If you are a winner, a Staff Senate representative will email you an application, a promissory note that must be notarized, and detailed instructions. Any costs incurred for notarization will be reimbursed.
