LMU Staff Senate typically meets the third Wednesday of the month, August through May; meetings last 2 hours. The senate does not meet during the June and July summer sessions.
Staff Senate meeting agendas vary from month to month and contain a mix of the following items:
- Guest Speakers: This may include the provost, vice presidents, or other administrators from university leadership who want to review new policies or seek out feedback. This could also include staff from areas around campus who need support for their initiatives. Past speakers have also included individuals from the LMU community wanting to create a bridge with Staff Senate, such as the Faculty Senate President and program directors.
- Executive Board Updates: The Staff Senate Executive Board updates the senate on any initiatives that they are pursuing as a part of their membership on university committees.
- Committee Updates: Staff Senate committees share their current projects, accomplishments, and requests for support.
- Senate Business: This could be discussions or working sessions related to upcoming events, senate initiatives, university policies, the senate budget, committee needs, or senate administrative tasks.
- New Business: Senators bring staff concerns and challenges to the senate to gain support, seek feedback, and strategize solutions. This time may also be used for senators to propose any additional projects or initiatives they would like the senate to adopt.

All meetings are held on Wednesdays from 10 a.m.–noon with the exception of our August meeting, which is held 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

For fall 2025, senate meetings are held in University Hall, McIntosh Center (Room 3999). For spring 2026, senate meetings are held in William H. Hannon Library, Von der Ahe Family Suite (Room 322).
