The External Relations team is dedicated to navigating the complexities of governmental processes and facilitating constructive dialogue to promote LMU’s strategic interests through advocacy. We are committed to leveraging our expertise to drive positive outcomes for LMU and the broader educational community.

Some of our responsibilities include:

  • Regularly tracking the legislative budget processes to advocate for financial aid, research funding, and other initiatives important to our students and campus community
  • Providing guidance to University leadership on state and federal policies and programs affecting our daily operations
  • Ensuring the University complies with all applicable laws and government regulations
  • Collaborating closely with campus administrative offices to build relationships with elected officials and government agencies
  • Coordinating and facilitating events involving government officials and dignitaries, both on campus and in the community
  • Representing the University in our interactions with higher education associations
