Led by a mission in which a focus on social justice, is also expressed in its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism, Loyola Marymount University is committed to the success of students, staff, and faculty from historically underrepresented and marginalized communities. One step in this mission is to increase access to the resources, groups and programs that can facilitate a greater sense of inclusion and belonging for all members of the LMU community.

On this page you will find specialized programs, affinity and networking groups for faculty, staff, and students, as well as upcoming events, and resources that center the concerns and needs of a particular community. This webpage offers a space to build community connections, to advance career and educational opportunities, and to help community members thrive at LMU.

About Apalsa

Advocacy and Solidarity

The Ignatian tradition of discernment urges that, as persons for and with others, we pay attention to the injustices around us so that we might commit ourselves to a comprehensive reform of our structures and systems. LMU is taking steps to making the university a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all members of our community. We have LMU students, faculty, and staff of color to thank for their advocacy and leadership. The Asian and Pacific Islander Student Coalition (APISC) has presented the university with a list of demands to guide the university to this goal. Review their letter and LMU’s response.
