LMU Parent Council
A letter of introduction from LMU's Parent Council Chair:
Dear LMU Parents,
I am very excited to welcome all of you to the Loyola Marymount University family on behalf of the Parent Council.
My daughter Victoria, ’19, chose LMU the first time she stepped onto the campus, long before she even applied to the school. We first came to LMU in 2014 and Victoria felt a connection with the school right away. Our family was thrilled that Victoria chose a university that actively promotes our values as well as the Jesuit traditions that we have always embraced. I joined the Parent Council at LMU because I have always been an active community volunteer and my family and I wanted to support the university. The Parent Council allows me to be involved with my children’s experience at LMU and to help prepare her for her future. In addition, the Parent Council is a channel for parents to share experiences and have their voice heard. We have a number of outstanding speakers from the university who meet with us one on one and we meet parents from around the world who share our common goals and beliefs.
Since Victoria started at LMU, I have been thrilled to witness her continued growth, both academically and socially. LMU offers her a wealth of opportunities and experiences that have only enriched her life. I know that LMU will always be a part of our family throughout our lifetime and I look forward to witnessing the role LMU will play in her future successes.
I am truly honored to have been asked to Chair the Parent Council, following in the great footsteps of outgoing Chair Julie Rollofson Teel, P ’16, ’17. I am looking forward to meeting many of you and I hope many of you will consider becoming a member of the Parent Council. I am so excited to be a part of this incredible university and, in the words of St. Ignatius, let’s go forth and set the world on fire!
Parent Council Chair, 2017

Your Gift Makes a Difference
Parents, like all LMU donors, have the flexibility to choose where to direct their gift and how they choose to give. There are over 1,000 different programs, organizations and departments that parents may support at LMU and every gift has the power to impact students. As an LMU parent, you can also choose to support your child’s education through the Parents Fund.
The Parents Fund
Parents play an extremely important role at LMU through their support of and involvement in their student's education at LMU. Another way parents can support the university and its mission is by giving to The Parents Fund. Your gift provides support to the university where its financial needs are the greatest. The Parents Fund provides unrestricted funds for academic programs, faculty recruitment and retention, campus improvements, classroom technology and equipment, and many other projects and services directly benefiting students. In short, these funds go beyond tuition payments to make LMU not only one of the finest universities in Los Angeles and California, but also in the entire country. Donors at the Leadership Donor level ($1,000 and above) also enjoy special courtesies that further their connection to LMU. We hope you will consider making a gift to The Parents Fund. It is an important investment in your child's future.
