Dear LMU Parents,
I am thrilled to welcome you to the Loyola Marymount University family on behalf of the Parent Council!
My son, Bryan knew LMU would be the perfect place for him and I was thrilled he chose a University that actively promotes the Jesuit tradition I believe in. I joined the Parent Council because I want to directly support that tradition and the encouragement of the education of the whole person. The Parent Council allows me to influence Bryan’s experience while at Loyola Marymount University and prepare him for his future. In addition, the Council is a channel for parents to share experiences and have their voice heard.
Since his freshman year I have been thrilled to witness Bryan’s continued growth at LMU. In addition to growing academically, he has transformed into a young adult for others who has a desire to contribute to society. The wealth of diverse activities available at Loyola Marymount University has enriched his experience. As Bryan continues through his college career, I am ecstatic to see how LMU will continue to play a role in his future successes.
I am honored to be Chair of the Parent Council and to share my enthusiasm for the University with other parents.

Parents play an extremely important role at LMU through their support of and involvement in their student's education at LMU. Another way they can support the university and its mission is by giving to The Parents Fund. Your gift provides support to the university where its financial needs are the greatest. The Parents Fund provides unrestricted funds for academic programs, faculty recruitment and retention, campus improvements, classroom technology and equipment, and many other projects and services directly benefiting students. In short, these funds go beyond tuition payments to make LMU not only one of the finest universities in Los Angeles and California, but also in the entire country. Donors at the Presidential Associate level ($1,000 and above) also enjoy special courtesies that further their connection to LMU. We hope you will consider making a gift to The Parents Fund. It is an important investment in your child’s future.
Parents can also participate in advancing the mission of LMU by volunteering at various LMU events or becoming members of the Parent Council. Parent Council members help plan and participate in Family Weekend, freshman parent orientation, and regional parent events. It’s a great way to meet other parents, make new friends and keep abreast of what’s happening at LMU.
Visit the Parents site, www.lmu.edu/parents, to obtain current information and important dates. There are also convenient links to other areas of interest, including our new parent resource, "Parents Pride. "
