President's Leadership Development Initiative

The Conceptual Framework for Transforming Institutions of Higher Education guides the President’s Leadership Development Initiative. The Leadership Development Initiative serves as a catalyst for change to create an effective inclusive university environment where all faculty and staff can succeed. It links academic leadership to inclusive excellence, and draws upon the talents, experiences and expertise of LMU faculty and staff as well as external experts within the broader higher education community. These transformational Higher Education Administrators engage LMU faculty and staff in university-wide dialogue that promotes the visible action and institutional collaboration necessary for transforming LMU’s academic culture. The Initiative focuses on identifying and developing effective leadership practices, understanding people and communicating effectively, leading, managing institutional budgets, and understanding legal issues that impact colleges and universities.

The President’s Leadership Development Initiative has distinctive internal and external components. Internal components are designed to meet the needs of Higher Education Administrators within the LMU community. The external component is designed to meet the needs of Higher Education Administrators in colleges and universities in California and other Western states.
